A Supercalifragilisticexpialidoucious Brunch

No Disney experience would be complete without a character breakfast! So the girls and I dressed up for a Supercalifragilisticexpialidoucious Brunch at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

40th Anniversary of WDW

2011 marks 40 years Walt Disney World has been opened here in Florida. I have made so many memories here with family and friends and I can't believe that I have been alive half as long as Walt Disney World has been!

Magic, Nostalgia and Escapism

The only picture I have of me and my mom's solo Disney trip.

I have been thinking lately about what draws people to Disney parks, what keeps them coming back at all ages. I realized it is because of Disney’s deep nostalgic roots, the familiarity of the parks and the escapes they provide. Magic Kingdom is nostalgic in that it is a representation of a place that is static, old fashioned, and frequented by those who long for the peaceful easiness of childhood. Walt Disney World provides escapes from day-to-day lives but both are unable to completely keep the complexities of society out of their worlds.

Earning My Ears

When you go through training with Disney, you place a red tag that says  "Earning My Ears" underneath your nametag. This red tag signifies to everyone who works with or visits Disney that you don't know anything.

Employees refer to you as "red tags", guests try to take advantage of you, it's a four day process of long days and lots of frustration. Until, that is, you get to take it off.

Share With Me Your Disney Memories!

As many of you know, I'm working with Disney this semester and blogging my way through it! I've been trying to blog about my own Walt Disney World Memories and re-creating them.

Magic Kingdom currently has a show every evening called The Magic, The Memories, and You, where guests can see photos taken that day at the park. Every photo is a memory and every memory is important.

I would LOVE to hear YOUR Disney Memories, and share them with my readers. Whether it be a photo of your favorite character that touched your heart, a picture from Disney that is one of your favorites, or a spot in one of the parks that means something special to you.

For example, you can view my post about the Hollywood Studios Snowman.

Message me your stories here on Tumblr, or Facebook. You can also let me know if you want to email me. Please enclose in the email/message the photo of your memory as well.

Share this with your friends and families! I will accept as many photos as are offered to me!

Rapunzel Let Down Your Hair

For this program, I decided to bring back one of my favorite Disney Vacation traditions: the Autograph book with the Mickey head pen.

Me and my roommates Jess and Jessi (confusing, right?) all bought our books and headed out for our first Character Meet and Greet with Rapunzel from Tangled!

Making Magical Memories

This past week I've been doing my training for Park Greeter/Parade Audience Control (PAC) at Magic Kingdom Park. During this time I've had hundreds of interactions with guests and I can truly feel in my heart that it is the cast--the entire cast--of this great organization that is responsible for making magical memories.

Disney Fashion, Then And Now

I know that there are so many of you who WISH you could be as fashion savvy as me. (HAH) My entire life has been full of some interesting fashion trends, but none so interesting as my Disney Fashions.

A World of Magic In My Backyard!

On Friday, I received my OFFICIAL Walt Disney World ID. With this magical blue ticket, I can access all the Walt Disney World parks (and parking!) for free!

The Day the Lines Stood Still

Yesterday was my first day of the Disney College Program! As is popular with anything involving Disney, I spent the majority of my day in a line--a line that rarely moved. I was disappointed in myself when I blurted outloud to all the strangers that surrounded me:

The Hellyer Family Snowman

For my first Daily Dose of Disney Post, I'd like to pay attention to my family's favorite thing in Hollywood Studios Park: The Christmas Shoppe Snowman!!

Pack-Apocalypse!

The time has finally come! I've started the long process of packing everything I'll need for my big semester in Walt Disney World.
